General Bus Information

Accessible Buses

Most newer buses have wheelchair access and internal designated areas for wheelchair passengers. Look for the international wheelchair sign on the front of these buses.  The driver will operate the ramp and help wheelchair passengers pay their fare. Wheelchair passengers will need to be able to wheel themselves on board.

All bus operators welcome passengers accompanied by service dogs or disability assist dogs.

A row of seats towards the front of most buses is identified as especially available for the elderly or physically disabled.  To help make these passengers' journeys easier, please allow them to sit in these seats.

Audio and Braille

Improvements to bus services are always being made, with recent examples including on-request audio announcements (by pushing the yellow button) and Braille signage at bus stops with Real Time signs. New signage is also being installed with larger icons and fonts for those with visual impairments.
