Be. in the News

Minnie-talking Here's a super quick recap of Be. happenings over the last few months! In October we talked to Stuff, chatted to bFM, made the front page of Acuity Mag, spoke with Chartered Accountants NZ and Linda Coles and were interviewed by Plains FM. We launched our new Be. Employed campaign with two gorgeous videos – telling the stories of Hariri and Steph. We hosted the awesome Thought-Wired crew at Be. Curious, celebrated our DINZ Best Awards nomination in the Public Good category, and spoke at the Social Enterprise World Forum!

In November Minnie wrote a Letter to New Zealand, we met with Microsoft's global chief accessibility officer Jenny Lay-Flurrie, and spoke to the Sunday Star Times. Our Be. Leadership 2017 cohort graduated at a beautiful ceremony at AUT, and we launched the Wellington Centre of Excellence network – Be. Wellington – at the Wellington Zoo.

Our Jake was honoured at the University of Otago’s Disability Information and Support Appreciation Awards, our internship programme was a finalist in the Industry Leadership Award category at the ATEED Young at Heart Awards 2017, and we secured a whole load of awesome internships for young Access Citizens – including placements at Weta Workshop, NZME, The Human Rights Commission, and the Genetics Clinic at Capital & Coast District Health Board!
