#66 Inspiration for lunch

By Susannah Walker

I feel blessed to work with a team of passionate, insightful, intelligent and inspiring women.

They are small in number but big on ideas, action, commitment, and which staff member has a fab new pair of boots (yes, Kylie, that would be you).

These women work at Be. Accessible’s office in Auckland. As Be. Accessible’s Marketing & Communications Manager - and the newest member of the team - you could possibly accuse me of bias. But you’d be wrong!

After 25 years or so in the workforce, I find myself in the most stimulating environment I’ve ever been a part of. On the bus to work each morning, I have to do deep breathing. Because I am learning so much from the incredible women around me.

One of them is our CEO, Minnie. Like other women in leadership roles, she has a story to tell about her journey to where she is today. And, like many successful women, she is generous about sharing what she has learned along the way.

Minnie is one of four inspirational speakers at an upcoming series of lunchtime events for working women in Auckland. The focus is on personal stories, sharing information, and encouragement from role models on journeys relevant to your own.

The series, run by women’s networking organisation Professionelle with support from AUT, starts on May 28.

It’s free to join Professionelle, and I’ve just signed up. If you get along to any of their events, you’re sure to spot me. I’ll be the one doing the seriously deep breathing.
