A screen shot of the New Zealad Tourism Guide websiteThis month we celebrate the commitment and leadership of Fab 50 member Michael Boersen of Yellow to integrate accessibility into the company's products and subsidiaries, and in particular the work being done by Yellow's Tourism platform, the New Zealand Tourism Guide. Over the past 6 months this highly dedicated team have worked with our Be. Accessible digital accessibility specialist to achieve Gold Standard accessible design and user experience – the first online tourism platform in New Zealand to do so!
We are very proud that New Zealand's leading tourism site is showing leadership as an exemplar of accessibility- but they’re not stopping there! The New Zealand Tourism Guide has also been working with Be. Accessible to make the information from our accessibility directory available on their site. It is wonderful to be working collaboratively with such a dedicated partner to ensure that information about the fabulous accessible accommodation, attractions, tour and transport providers in New Zealand reaches the widest audience possible. The significance of this is huge, as it will not only extend the reach of accessibility information to more access citizens throughout New Zealand and the world, but it will also raise awareness about the growing accessibility movement happening within New Zealand as more and more operators commit to improving the accessibility of their facilities and services.
We are appreciative of support of Michael Boersen and Yellow to progress the accessibility movement, and also the opportunity for New Zealand to become world leaders in accessible tourism. We look forward to our ongoing partnership with Yellow and are sure we will have lots more fabulous stories to share in the future.
