Auckland City Access Maps

These maps provide accessibility information about Auckland’s CBD, Newmarket, Parnell and Ponsonby, and are handy for both locals and tourists!

The Auckland Access Maps were a joint project with the Auckland Council in the lead up to Rugby World Cup to provide helpful information about Auckland's accessibility features. The response to such a resource has been so overwhelming that we are working on creating access maps for every town in New Zealand, with a view to have a full accessibility map for the whole of New Zealand!

If you work for a local council or organisation, please get in touch if you would like to be part of creating more access maps for New Zealand.

Be. the Voice: Media Accessibility Pack

minnie ivBe. the Voice is Be. Accessible's media accessibility pack, designed to be your personal guide to writing and producing stories about accessibility.

The media are society's great influencers and play both a leader and commentator role; they are therefore in a position to make real social change for those who live with a disability and are being excluded from society. As leaders in public opinion, the media's role is crucial in shaping the way that society views issues relating to accessibility.

The purpose of this pack is to provide a useful opportunity for the media to reflect on its approach to telling stories about disability and accessibility so that it may add further depth, interest and currency to stories and in turn, enhance the inclusion of disabled people in society.
